I needed a small vacuum to use near my model train set-up. After looking at many reviews I decided to give this one a try. I am not disappointed. It is powerful, easy to clean out, and with its pivoting nose design, allows me to get to every little bit of debris I want to remove from the train table. An added feature, a thin extension from the nose nozzle, allows getting into tight places with some ease. Despite being a bit loud, I do not hesitate to recommend this device for small clean-up projects in a workshop or anywhere else around the house.

Works pretty well, powerful, easy to use. Use to suck up cat hair from around my laptop, out of DVD slot. Only wish they would design it so vacuum nozzle tips could remain on vacuum in its charging stand. Must remove any tips to allow charging, a minor hassle.

4 Stars Very convenient, small dust holding capacity
This vacuum is very convenient for quick jobs or for places that would be hard to clean with a regular vacuum, such as stairs. The only shortcoming I found is the small dust holding capacity - the dust bin and the filter have to be cleaned frequently (say after vacuuming a few sets of stairs a few times). Also, the filter needs to be cleaned with a regular vacuum, and that takes additional time and effort.
3 Stars Functional, but not without some complaints
I just bought this a month ago so I can’t comment on the life span of it, but overall it seems to function pretty well.
The pros: Swiveling head is handy especially when vacuuming the car. It folds up compactly for easy storage.
The cons: I had read some comments that it is very loud. This is true when it is on the highest of the two speed settings. However, there is a lower speed setting that seems to work just fine that isn’t nearly as loud. I find the suction opening to be a little too small for my liking. It doesn’t cover quite enough ground at once, but it has successfully sucked up everything I’ve put it up to: Car dirt, Christmas tree pine needles, kitchen dirt, hair…
3 Stars IT IS OK BUT LEAKS DIRT
If you just want to pick up small grain dirt then it will do that ok. Larger pieces just don’t get sucked up. The main complaint I have is that when I fold it up and put back on the charger it drops dirt on my counter. I keep it cleaned out but still continues to drop the dirt. I would really like to meet the people who test these things. And it is too heavy.
5 Stars This one is amazing!
All Dustbusters die eventually. I had another Band D cyclonic that I wrote rave reviews about a couple of years ago. This one is even better! I replaced that one recently…(when it finally died) with this model. I got it from Beach Camera for about $60.
So far I am amazed. It is so powerful! My only complaint is that when I tried picking up dead fern fronds on my carpet, which are super light…they were blowing all over from the Dustbuster.
My main reason for owning a Dustbuster and using it so frequently is my two Long Haired Himalayan cats. One of whom is a total slob with her dry food, which winds up all over the house. Between the cat hair, the cat litter and the dry food..Dustbusting is a very frequent event around here. Most of my rooms are carpeted and it pics up well on both hard surfaces as well as carpet.
I like the fact that the nozzel folds flat and has many positions available.
It is a real powerhouse!

4 Stars couldn’t believe how much dirt it picked up!
**I’m only rating this 4 stars for now since I just got it; will adjust over time if needed** After seeing the copious amount of pine needles my christmas tree shed this year I decided it was time for a new vacuum. Our current vacuum had been underperforming anyway since we brought home two kittens a few months ago (bringing our total to 2 large dogs, and 3 cats), so it was time. I had a short list of things that were non-negotiable: it had to be less than $100; use a canister instead of a bag, and have a hose attachment. After checking several websites and reading many reviews I decided on this one.
This arrived yesterday, and we assembled quickly and easily. I hadn’t vacuumed for a few weeks, and w/ 2 dogs, 3 cats, and a christmas tree that meant that our carpet was pretty dirty. However, it wasn’t so dirty that vacuuming a 6×12′ area should have filled up the canister, but it did. It wasn’t all pet hair and pine needles; this was very fine dirt that apparently the vacuum we bought last year (a Eureka) left deep down in our carpet. We had to dump the canister (which is average size) many times as we vacuumed the house, but our carpets look and feel amazing now thanks to the deep cleaning this vacuum gives. though the vacuum feels a tad heavy when you’re using it the very powerful motor pulls you right along and it’s not a problem. It stores very easily in the broom cupboard, and dumping the canister is very easy. The only complaint I have it that the “turbo brush” tool is fairly useless on the upholstery we tried it on. But that’s not why we bought this model, and we won’t use it that much anyway, so I’m not really counting it against this vacuum.
1 Star Broke the day it arrived
This vacuum is really easy to put together. It was working fine for about 5 minutes after assembling it, then started making a choking noise and completely lost suction. I checked the tube and there was no clog - I didn’t even have anything on my carpet other than dust. I returned it the same day and purchased a Hoover instead.

Thie Bissell vacuum is a good buy. True it doesn’t have self-propulsion, but it does a good job picking up even the stuff you can’t see. It’s easy to empty and relatively lightweight. And you won’t beat the price.
5 Stars Kirby Breakdown Best Thing To Happen To Us!
We have had a Kirby G4 for 15 years and thought it was working great. It broke down on us the other day and as it turns out it was the best thing that could have happened to our carpets/general house cleanliness. I did things a bit backwards (reading the reviews AFTER we bought the product) since we needed the vacuum fast. I ran to Target and bought this vacuum (only spending $75 thinking we would keep it as our downstairs vacuum and repair the Kirby). Boy were we WRONG. My wife and I were purely disgusted by what we pulled out of our carpeting/upholstery. We have 2 kids and 2 cats. The cat hair, general grime and fine dust we pulled out of our carpet was revolting to say the least. I had to empty the canister about a dozen times before I was done and then fully clean the filters, etc. afterwards. Here we thought we had the real-deal with our Kirby and now it’s going to the dump on Saturday! This is our first bagless vacuum and I must say it sounds like we totally lucked out by purchasing this after reading the reviews. I would go along with the rest in recommending this for pet owners. I’m curious to see how my friend who is allergic to cats does the next time he is here (things didn’t go so well for him last time). The only downfall is the short hose for using the attachments. However the Zipbrush works WAY better than the Kirby one so it’s worth the pain of the short hose. What a blessing in disguise!
