5 Stars Best Vacuum cleaner ever!
I have spent $1500 on a vacuum (Kirby) which was heavy and bulky, and then ($1200) on a Rainbow. Again, heavy and bulky. Both just did not preform to my liking. Then in 2000 I moved to England and while living there, I bought a Dyson, not the Dyson Ball, back in 2000 they only had the single cyclone. And with just one cyclone I was highly impressed. I have spent over a thousand dollars twice on vacuums and nothing could beat my Dyson. I had to move back to America in 2008, and the one item I wanted to bring to America with me was my very much loved Dyson, but America runs on a different amps here, and would not run my English Vacuum. Once back, I bought a 5 cyclone upright Eureka. The vacuum never had a great suction power, and it was always getting clogged. After using it for 1 1/2 years, I broke down and bought the Dyson Ball!!! It’s even better than my loved vacuum I had in England. This has excellent suction power, incredible actually, it also is very light weight, moves with ease and self adjust when I go over different floor types!! That is such a plus, I have 3 types of carpet in my house and also tile and wood flooring and this wonderful vacuum will adjust itself instead on my reaching down to turn a dial like my old vacuum.
So, I can not say enough about the Dyson Ball, it is worth any money you spend!!
5 Stars Loving to vacuum now
Loving my new Dyson DC25…vacuuming is easy and fast and suction seems good. The only drawback so far seems to be that the hose is so easily retracted that I feel that I’m fighting it…hoping this will resolve over time and use. I find myself vacuuming much more often because of its maneuverability.
2 Stars Pretty disappointed
I was SO excited to receive this vacuum. I’d been wanting a Dyson Ball for some time, and when my current vacuum bit the dust, I knew this was my chance. I mulled over the option of buying local for $498, or via ABC Vacuum through Amazon.com for $399 with free shipping. I decided on the Amazon route. My vacuum arrived several days later, and the box looked a bit beat up. It seemed packaged OK however, and I worked to assemble the vacuum. Although there are only three steps, the manual was not helpful and the set-up not completely intuitive.
After assembly, I felt like a kid at Christmas waiting to use it. I turned it on, and the brush bar refused to turn. After several attempts I contacted Dyson by phone. I was asked to “reset” the vacuum by pressing down on the brush bar on/off switch ten times. The button was “stuck” but after some hard pressing loosened and I was able to do the reset. Pretty disappointing after I had been hoping for a quick, easy, and thrilling vacuum experience.
The brush bar continues to work intermittently. After a week of hit or miss brush bar turning, I contacted Dyson again and they said I could send it back, it would be repaired, and they would then ship it back to me. I was pretty disappointed in the response as I had just purchased a fairly expensive vacuum that was still brand new and under warranty. I felt they should ship me a new one, and then have me send the old one back.
It seems to be working again, and packing it up myself and waiting around a full day for UPS to show up is a major inconvenience so I am living with it for the time being.
In summary:
PROS:
-The suction is great.
-It looks cool.
CONS:
-Difficulty with the brush bar right out of the box.
-Plastic feel light. I question the durability.
-Cord could be longer.
-Canister is small.
-Brush bar could be wider.
-Customer service is “OK” but not great if you live out of range of a repair center.
Would I do it again? Probably not. This was one of the most disappointing purchases I have ever made.
5 Stars Great vacuum!
I have used three different brands and nothing cleaned as well as this Dyson. I had a Panasonic which kept breaking belts and an Electolux which had parts breaking off the handle and the off and on switch broke after one week. Very satisfied, a little expensive but worth the money.
5 Stars This vacuum sucks!
Literally, I have a kirby g6 and this thing cleans way better. Mainly I like the convenience. All the attachments are on board and it is very light. It is easy to use and fun, very maneuverable. The filter is washable and it takes no bags. The instructions that came with the machine are inadequate and don’t tell you much so I did have to get on the website to figure a few things out. I like the fact that the roller is powered by a separate motor and does not use a belt or anything like that, it is gear driven.

5 Stars Eureka 71B Hand Held Vacuum
This is a great hand-held vacuum and to make it better I ordered from Amazon the Dirt Devil attachments for $12.95. They work great to extend this vacuums use, including the hanger that also holds this vacuum. This all works great together.
5 Stars So far, so good
I recently purchased the Eureka 71B Vacuum and have used it 5 or 6 times in my office. I find it an excellent product and
a great buy for the money. It seems to have plenty of suction, is quick and easy to use, and most of the concerns several
others have expressed in reviews, have not been an issue for me ie noisy and hard to empty dirt collection container. The
one complaint I do have, also expressed by others, is that the cord collecting space built into the vacuum, is not quite
deep enough to handle the long cord. It takes careful winding of the cord to insure it will pack into the space provided and because of that, I have stopped using it and just pile the loops on top of the vacuum in storage. Only time will tell how
it holds up over time but so far, so good. I would strongly recommend it based on my rather limited use to date.
5 Stars Absolutely wonderful
I purchased this vacuum after reading all the wonderful reviews. I just have to add my own! This is a great vacuum, very powerful, compact, and surprisingly lightweight. It picks up way more than my Kirby, which cost us so much more! I just moved into a two story house and I love the “riser visor” feature- it works great on stairs. I also like that the attachments all fit compactly into the unit and it is about the width and length of a computer CPU tower (in fact, that is where it is being stored right now). Bottom line- wonderful, wonderful vacuum that will pick up way more dirt and dust than you thought you had!
5 Stars All around awesome!
I’ve had this vacuum for a few months now and I just love it. I bought it to vacuum the stairs, but I’ve used it to clean out the lint trap in the dryer and the pet hair out of my car. It surprised me with how much pet hair it picks up, the inside of my car looks brand new! I highly recommend this vacuum to anyone looking for a powerful hand-held vacuum.
4 Stars Eureka!!!
Eureka 71B Hand-Held Vacuum
I bought this vacuum to clean the 13 carpeted steps I have going from 1st to 2nd floor. I had been using a Power Nozzle on a Electrolux Canister. That was pretty much a two man job as the Nozzle required two hands, and the Canister/hose combination wouldn’t set on a step without falling. This small vacuum has solved the two man problem. The Up-Side: It dose a good job of cleaning, is light weight, easy to empty, compact storage, and I didn’t find it unusually noisy. The Down-Side: It doesn’t glide over my particular carpet very well, especially when trying to use the front opening on the stair risers. Maybe some height-control skids/rollers would improve this aspect of the vacuum. Also I am right handed; the hose is connected to the left side of the vacuum. I natural want to use the hose with my right hand which means the hose has to cross over the vacuum. Well it isn’t long enough for that. Solution; hold the vacuum in the right hand and the hose in the left. In-Any-Case, I am for the most part, satisfied, and would recommend it.
