5 Stars Vacuum cleaner
We have been trying to find a vacuum cleaner for several years to pick up the dog hair in our apartment. This was a pleasant surprise and the shipping was so far.
4 Stars Great value, but I question the durability
Like several others, I purchased this vacuum after reading all the positive reviews. For the most part, I agree with them. This is a fantastic vacuum cleaner that’s a superior value. Unfortunately, the unit I purchased broke down after 20 months. I’m tempted to buy another one since it worked so well for those 20 months and the price is still a relative steal. That said, I will be mindful of the durability. While there’s only so much you can expect for less than $70, I was hoping that my product would last at least three years.
Bottom line: brilliant when it worked and a tremendous value, but I worry about the durability.
1 Star Missing part
This item was found to have a missing part. When I contacted the Hoover helpline, I was advised to return it. Sorry, really wanted to love this but didn’t even get a chance to try it out.
4 Stars good for the price
It’s still pretty new, so I can’t speak for durability. It’s very powerful, and gets the carpets and hard floors plenty clean. It does seem to kick back debris when using it, which is uncomfortable to the shins. For $70, though, no complaints.
5 Stars Cheap Price But Hard Working Vacuum
My Riccar died and was irreparable so after reading the reviews on this vacuum I was sold.
I love it!
It is that beautiful blue you see in the Amazon photo.
I love having the attachments being attached to the machine so I can pull off whatever I need and use it immediately. It comes with:
2 extension wands
crevice tool
furniture nozzle
dusting brush
The vacuum has five settings from high carpet down to bare floor and the suction is fantastic. After a much needed vacuuming of the whole house after waiting between working vacuums, this one’s bag filled in two days, so I know it was really doing a great job.
There is no light but I’ve never seen the real point to them anyway so it did not detract from the rating.
I like the stair cleaning handle on the front so I can haul it up the stairs vacuuming as I go. It is light enough to use on stairs.
It uses disposable bags.
I bought this particular vacuum because I wanted a cheap price but hard working and I got it with this one!
Miele Vacuum Cleaner Bags Type FJM HyClean Part Number 07291640
Miele Vacuum Cleaner Bags Type FJM HyClean Part Number 07291640

The new Miele FJM HyClean vacuum bags are an improvement over the earlier design. Over 80 years of experience have allowed Miele engineers to design a truly improved vacuum bag. The new design employs nine levels of filtration, improved air flow, high strength netting, and up to 30% improved performance and design over its predecessor. A new self sealing collar locks dust and contents inside of the dust bag so they do not escape into your home when replacing bags.
Each box of HyClean vacuum bags contains the following:
*4 - pack of FJM HyClean Vacuum Bags
*1 - Motor Filter
*1 - Super Air Clean Filter
Miele FJM HyClean vacuum bags are used with the following Miele vacuums: S4000-S4999, S700-S758S, S500-S578, S300i-S399, S290-S291, S241-S256i.

2 Stars too expensive
These new bags are way too expensive and they only fill up about 1/2 way! The vacuum cleaner itself is great but the bags come up short. The trap door idea is a loser as it gets stuck open on debris. The old bags were better, but still too expensive because you can’t fill them up. The engineers need to keep working on this one!
1 Star New bags are a disaster
These new bags are a disaster! I have had my Miele vacuum cleaner for 5 years - and LOVE it! I never had any problem with the old bags. Problems with the new bags are: 1) Inside the new bags there are small plastic strips that run parallel to each other. These strips are supposed to “sway” in the suction and push the dirt/debris to the edges of the bag. They don’t work - the dirt/debris stays piled in the middle of the bag. The new bags only get 1/3 full and then . . . 2) The new bags have a flap that opens (and closes). When the dirt gets piled in the middle of the bag - the flap is probably held open allowing the dirt/lint to escape. Twice I have opened my bag compartment to find it filled with dirt and lint. I had to 1) pay $50.00 to have my motor cleaned out (full of lint/dirt) and 2) another $50.00+ for a new HEPA filter. My vacuum cleaner repair store said they have had a lot of complaints from Miele customers. Offered 2 solutions: 1) Some people are cutting through the plastic strips in the bag to keep them from working (or not working) and 2) There is a generic bag made for the vacuum by EnviroCare Technologies. I opted for the generic bag - because it DOES NOT have a flap - which I believe to be a part of the problem. Email Miele - maybe they will bring back the OLD bags.
3 Stars Expensive
These work great but Miele used to give you 5 bags for the same price.
4 Stars Very nice for a vacuum bag.
The bags are very durable, well made compared to most. However, I am a three pet household and I go through them too quickly and find the cost is too much. I ended up puchasing a ‘generic’ bag that isn’t as pretty but is as functional. It may not be best for allergies ( I don’t know), but they do work okay so far. I would have given the Miele bags five stars except for the price.
5 Stars Miele vacuum bags
Bags are easy to use, easy to change and work great at keeping dust from blowing back into the house. The HEPA filter is also part of this system, so that contributes to the clean odor and dust free air.

2 Stars Too top heavy, bin falls out!
This vac is SO top heavy that it won’t stay upright unless it’s hanging on a hook, so it falls over at every opportunity, which means you can’t pause in your work, instead always having to keep it in hand. This, combined with a bin that won’t stay put, equals a HUGE MESS every time I turn around! It’s so irritating and causes so much extra work that it really doesn’t matter whether it sucks dirt, because it SIMPLY SUCKS. I got so tired of using duct tape to keep the bin in place that I finally threw it away. WHAT A WASTE OF MONEY!
1 Star Not near as good as advertised
This is the second time the vacuum has needed repair in a year. The vacuum quits picking up anything and only the brush operates in the head unit. The passage way for the debris is too small and gets clogged not allowing anything else to be picked up. Way to many flaws in this unit to be seriously considered!
5 Stars wonderful
super light, no dust bag.you can lean it on the wall. has carpet and hard floor buttons so i don’t need a broom any more! pretty much perfect and affordable. worth more than it cost I’m very happy.
3 Stars Boycott Hoover!
This vacuum is exactly how I’ve rated it….just okay. I might feel better about it if Hoover didn’t give me the run around on repairs. 6 months after using this vacuum very lightly - it stopped working. I took it to my local hoover repair shop and after 3 weeks I was told that Hoover had become impossible to deal with and that they were rarely covering warranty fixes. In the last few years, Hoover has been bought and sold 2 or 3 times and the company line at this point is to pass the buck. I ended up having to buy a new filter to replace the faulty filter that was originally on the vacuum.
5 Stars Flair Lover
Hi,
I have never done this before, but I am so HAPPY with this product! I have been married for over 50 years and have raised four kids and assorted grandkids. That is a lot of messes. I have never been enamored of yours or anyone elses vacumn, but this little mini-vac/electric broom has me looking forward to clean-ups. I originally bought the FLAIR S 2220 to use in my R.V. It is small, powerful and extremely movable. It is ideal for small tight places and does a great job. I have also used it in my home,on my carpets and floors. For every day cleanups,it can’t be beat.
Thank you,
Sincerely,
MRS HOWARD FOX
